The increasing application of computer technology and analytical methods in both the public and private sectors have made the study of Computer Science and Mathematics or Statistics a starting point for many career paths.

Students complete two majors, which means they study two subject areas in depth for three years. One major must be chosen from Computer Science and Software Engineering or from Mathematics and Statistics (see under Majors Available), and the second major may be in Computing or Mathematics or in almost any other discipline offered by the University, subject to approval by the Faculty.

Units totalling 144 points including two standard major sequences, of which at least one must be from the School of Mathematics and Statistics or the School of Computer Science and Software Engineering

Graduates with a major from Computer Science and Software Engineering offer high-level programming skills and experience to a wide variety of computer related occupations. Mathematics graduates and especially those with a background in Statistics and Applied Mathematics have analytical skills which are in demand in a wide range of organisations.
