A dramatic increase in the power of computers has been essential to the recent rapid development of science and engineering.
This program gives you the opportunity to develop skills in complex problem-solving in science (focusing on physics, chemistry or earth science), applying high-level expertise in mathematical and computer modelling. Scientific computation provides deeper insight into a wide range of phenomena than theory and experiment alone
Yet few science graduates have strong enough skills in computation to take advantage of these recent developments, while computer science graduates do not have the knowledge of mathematics and science needed for technical fields.
This degree program will provide students with competent education in science, mathematics and computing, especially valuable skills in complex problem-solving using state-of-the-art computing facilities. Computer modelling provides deeper insight into a wide range of phenomena than experiment alone.
Level 1
At Level 1 you will take foundation units in at least one of: physics, chemistry or earth science.
