Marketing is a discipline concerned with all aspects of the movement of goods and services from the producer to the consumer.
The Marketing major gives students knowledge and skills in the theory and practice of determining customer needs and then moving goods and services from producers to the consumers. Interdisciplinary in nature, marketing includes topics such as consumer behaviour, promotion, public relations, advertising, research, project and channel management and strategic management.
At UWA you get both the theoretical knowledge essential for good practice, and hands on skills. Marketing theory stems from a range of interesting disciplines including psychology, anthropology and economics. Projects incorporate practical skills such as developing a marketing plan, implementing and advertising campaign, or conducting and interpreting interviews with customers.
Marketing can be studied as a major in the Bachelor of Commerce, associated combined courses and a second major in the Bachelor of Economics.
