Mathematics - students with insufficient Mathematics will be required to study Quantitative Methods for Business and Economics 111 as part of their first year of study. Applicants without demonstrated mathematics competency will not be admitted.

Management

Management focuses on the effective management of organisations and will equip you for career opportunities at a time when the need for economic competitiveness is placing an increasing focus on the role of the manager.

The major in Management seeks to provide graduates with a comprehensive understanding of what is required in order to manage organisations effectively within different economic, social, political and legal contexts.  The major provides students with both conceptual and practical knowledge relating to key aspects of management and leadership, such as: the management of people; managing knowledge and innovation, managing in local and international environments, managing entrepreneurial ventures and stratgeic managment.  Building on the two foundation units of organisational behaviour and management and organisations, this major broadens to include units on human resource management, organisational learning and innovation, organisational change management, entrepreneurship, small business management, international management and stratetic management.

Management can be studied as a major in the Bachelor of Commerce, associated combined courses and as a second major in the Bachelor of Economics.

Structure

144 to 150 points comprising 24 to 25 six-point units. Students normally take eight units each year, four in each semester.
