Bachelor of Commerce: Any TEE mathematics or at least WACE Mathematics 2C/2D. (Students with only TEE Discrete Mathematics or WACE Mathematics 2C/2D will be required to study additional Level 1 mathematics units.)

Management

Management focuses on the effective running of organisations and will equip you for career opportunities at a time when the need for economic competitiveness is placing an increasing focus on the role of the manager.

The major in Management seeks to provide graduates with a comprehensive understanding of what is required in order to manage organisations effectively within different economic, social, political and legal contexts. 

The major provides students with both conceptual and practical knowledge relating to key aspects of management and leadership, such as: the management of people; managing knowledge and innovation, managing in local and international environments, managing entrepreneurial ventures and strategeic management.

Building on the two foundation units of organisational behaviour and management and organisations, this major broadens to include units on human resource management, organisational learning and innovation, organisational change management, entrepreneurship, small business management, international management and stratetic management.

Management can be studied as a major in the Bachelor of Commerce, associated combined courses and as a second major in the Bachelor of Economics.

Career opportunities

The knowledge of managerial skills that are acquired and developed in this major are designed to open doors to a variety of managerial and leadership career opportunities in industry, commerce and the public sector.
