Future students are given a campus tour

Country and metropolitan schools are welcome to bring their students on campus.

School students have found that visiting the campus helped them to...

feel more sure about how uni works, find out where we could live and have heaps of fun at the same time”, providing “a good experience which helped us to make a decision about where we are heading and giving us a goal to strive for”.

Our campus tours can include:

  • general tours of the campus
  • tours of the residential colleges
  • interactive or hands-on sessions within departments and centres

As our campus guides are currently studying at UWA, your students are provided with a unique perspective of life at university.

General tours of the University take at least one hour. Tours that include departmental activities may be limited to certain times of the year, due to examination and teaching constraints, and usually require at least two hours depending on the tour schedule.

Many tours incorporate a presentation by a staff member from the Admissions Office. These presentations are identical to those made to Year 12, 11 and 10 students during school visits.

We have found that presenting the information to students while they are at the university increases the student’s awareness and prompts them to ask more questions than we normally receive during school visits. As a result we strongly encourage that extra time for tours be allocated. We also ask that teachers remain with the groups at all times during the tour.
