You can complete honours in your chosen discipline at UWA, even if your undergraduate degree was completed at another university.
Honours, in this context, refers to 'end-on' honours courses, that is, undertaking an additional year of study, rather than courses where honours is awarded for exceptional performance within the standard course.
Closing dates
Applications close on Friday 18th December 2009 for Semester 1, 2010 for all majors except Psychology, which has a closing date of Monday 16th November 2009.
Late applications may be considered by some Faculties. Please contact the Admissions Centre for advice.
Australian students
Current UWA students who wish to apply for end-on honours can do so online via studentConnect. Click on the 'Apply for Honours' link in the left hand menu bar of studentConnect. Please also refer to iPoint for more information about honours.
If you've studied elsewhere:
1. Read the Honours Information Sheet for more information, then complete the Honours application form:
2. Contact the School in which you're interested. Many schools have Honours Coordinators who can advise you on supervision and entry requirements. Your honours application will remain incomplete if you fail to make contact with the appropriate UWA School.
3. Ensure that the School Honours Coordinator/ Head of School completes and signs the relevant section (the School Decision section) of your application form.
4. Submit your school-endorsed application form along with original or properly-certified copies of your academic transcripts to the Admissions Centre as soon as possible.
You will be notified by the Admissions Office of the outcome of your application as soon as practicable. Your letter of offer will include all the information you need to complete your enrolment.
International students
Current UWA international students should apply directly to their Faculty. Once you have received permission from your Faculty, the University will advise you that you are able to enrol.
If you wish to accept the offer, you must contact the International Centre so that you can receive a new letter of offer and Certificate of Enrolment to use when renewing your visa through the Department of Immigration and Citizenship.
If you've studied elsewhere:
1. Download and complete an undergraduate application form and forward to the International Centre.
You will need to provide some information on what you would like to do your honours project in so the University can find a suitable supervisor for you.
2. Once a supervisor is found, the University will make you an offer of a place. Please refer to the How to Apply section for more information.
