  1. If you anticipate achieving a TER of 99 or above, UWA may be able to offer other combinations of courses. You will still need to satisfy all other admission requirements. If you think that you will be eligible for this scheme, please contact the Admissions Centre as soon as possible.
  2. All students must satisfy English Language Competence requirements.
  3. Students with a pass in Discrete Mathematics only will be required to take Mathematics in first year.
  4. Students with only two of the three subjects (Calculus, Chemistry or Physics) will be required to complete either an intensive four week bridging course beginning in late January (Calculus) before commencement of their first semester or an extra level one unit during the first semester (Introductory Physics or Calculus or Introductory Chemistry).
  5. See the prerequisites for your intended Science major.
  6. Some majors have additional prerequisites. Contact the Admissions Centre for details.
  7. Teaching in first year assumes knowledge of Chemistry to TEE level.
  8. Students without a pass in TEE Physics will be required to take a Physics unit in the first year of the course.
  9. This course will be available in 2009 subject to UWA Senate approval.
  10. The following majors (offered as science in the single BSc course) are counted as arts in the combined course: anthropology, archaeology and linguistics. Majors in psychology or geography (offered as arts in the single BA course) count as science in the combined course. Majors in mathematics may be counted as either arts or science.
  11. This course involves studying at least one of chemistry, physics, biophysics or mathematics to at least Level 2.
  12. Not all Engineering streams are available with this course. Please check with the Faculty of Engineering, Computing and Mathematics for details.
  13. Acceptable Engineering/Science (3-yr) major combinations: Majors in physics, chemistry or mathematics may be taken with any engineering program. Majors in computer science or information technology may be taken with any engineering program except computer engineering or software engineering. A major in geology may be taken with civil or environmental engineering, mining systems or applied ocean science. Other majors in the environmental area (earth or biological sciences) are offered with environmental engineering or applied ocean science. Majors in the biomedical and life sciences (anatomy & human biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, physiology or cell physiology) and nanotechnology are offered with electrical & electronic engineering.
  14. Natural Resource Management with Environmental Engineering or Water Resources Engineering only.
  15. Students enrolling in a BSc combined degree are unable to complete a named program.
