Further information

Studying music - the classical guitar

All students applying to study music at UWA are auditioned.

The auditions are held immediately following the Tertiary Entrance Examinations each year, and give you an opportunity to showcase your talent.

You'll be asked to play two contrasting pieces, followed by a few aural tests.

Afterwards, members of the audition panel will ask you about your future plans for music study.

If you are applying to enter the professional music courses:

You will be expected to have a performance level equivalent to at least the Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB) Grade 7 and AMEB theory of around Grade 5.
