Future Students

TAFE, AQF and tertiary qualifications

UWA St George

You may use the results from certain studies to compete for a place at UWA if you have:

Selection is based on academic merit. You are strongly advised to provide numeric or letter grades where possible to assist the selection process. TAFE students will need to ask their College to provide this. Students from most other Australian universities will have their results transferred to us automatically.

English language competence

You must demonstrate that you satisfy UWA's English language competence requirement. To use your tertiary studies to show this, you will need to have successfully completed at least two years of full-time study towards a Bachelor degree in Australia.

Alternatively, UWA accepts successful completion of at least two years of full-time study towards a Bachelor degree (or equivalent) overseas, providing it has been taught and examined in English and it is assessed by UWA as being equivalent to Australian degree studies.

  • You may need to provide evidence from your home institution that your studies were taught and examined in English.

A completed Diploma does not satisfy UWA's English Language Competence requirement. If you have not successfully completed two years of Bachelor degree studies, you will need to demonstrate English competence through a UWA-approved English test.

Course prerequisites

You are required to satisfy the prerequisites for your desired course. If you have recently completed Year 12 in Australia contact the Admissions Centre for information on your status.

If you have not completed Year 12 in Australia recently, but you feel you might have obtained sufficient knowledge of prerequisite subjects through your tertiary study, you should make an appointment with the Faculty adviser to discuss your application.
