Special Tertiary Admissions Test

Further Information

Minimum requirements

For the STAT only entry route, the minimum requirement for consideration is a score of 150 in the Multiple-choice Verbal component AND a score 155 in the Written English section.

Entry through the STAT alone route is quite competitive. It is likely that you will need more than these minimum marks to win a place.

If you're using STAT to satisfy the University's English Language Competence requirement, the minimum STAT requirement is 150 in the Multiple-choice Verbal component and 145 in the Written English section.

If you will be 20 years of age by March 1 of the year you are entering University, and you:

  • do not have a school leaving qualification that makes you eligible for admission; and
  • you have never undertaken any tertiary study (diploma level or above)

then the Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT) is a great way to satisfy the admission requirements for entry to a selection of courses at UWA.

In Western Australia, the STAT is administered through the Tertiary Institutions Service Centre (TISC). If you are applying for a place at UWA in the first semester, then you need to sit the STAT by November of the previous year.

Course options

If a score in the STAT is your only qualification, you're eligible to compete for a place in the following courses:
