Late applications cannot be accepted unless exceptional circumstances apply.


Notification

UWay applicants will receive written notification to acknowledge receipt of their application.

This letter will remind you that you should advise us if you change your address, or if you are going to be away from home in January or February.

If your academic achievements have been adversely affected by certain disadvantages, you can apply for entry through the UWay scheme.

The scheme is for Tertiary Entrance Examination (TEE) students - or interstate and NZ equivalent - who want to enter an undergraduate degree course at UWA.

Step four Complete criterion forms

Download and complete only the criterion forms applicable to the criterion/criteria you have identified in part two of the student statement.

The personal statement section of each criterion is very important in explaining your case.

Submit your statement in your own handwriting, using your own words. Provide as much information as possible.

In addition to describing the nature of the disadvantage you have experienced, you need to explain very clearly why you have been prevented from reaching your academic potential.

Step five Include supporting documents

Provide all the information that is requested, including supporting documentation.

Step six Attach forms

Attach the completed criterion forms and supporting documentation to the UWay student statement.

Step seven Give application to principal

Give completed forms and supporting documentation to your school principal.

If the information is confidential, you may give it to your principal in a sealed envelope, addressed to the Executive Officer (Admissions Committee) and marked 'Private and Confidential'.

Or you can post your student statement directly to the Executive Officer (Admissions Committee).

Step eight Principal completes form

Ask your school principal to complete the school nomination form.

The school nomination form is not required for criterion one or two.

Step nine Post application package

Your school principal should post the complete application package, consisting of:

  • student statement with applicable criterion forms attached (unless forwarded separately to the Executive Officer (Admissions Committee)
  • school nomination
  • supporting documentation.
