How to apply for Study Abroad at UWA

You can study for up to two semesters at UWA as an international exchange student.

The Study Abroad program is for students:

  • who attend a university or college that does not have a formal student exchange agreement with UWA
  • where all places are filled in the student exchange program between UWA and your university
  • who have completed high school but not yet enrolled at a university.
  1. Applying directly to UWA
  2. Applying through a UWA representative overseas
  3. Applying through the Study Abroad Office or international programs at your home university.

Applying directly to UWA (if you don't need approval from your home university)

If you are applying directly to UWA, you can apply online.

Applying through a UWA representative overseas

UWA has representatives in more than 60 countries. Check whether your country has a UWA representative overseas.

You must be nominated by the UWA representative for the Study Abroad program at UWA.

Once this nomination has been received, you will be sent an email from the UWA Study Abroad Office with advice on how to apply online. Your application should be accompanied by:

  • your original academic transcript (or a certified copy)
  • evidence of English language competency (where appropriate).

Where documents are not in English, a certified English translation must be enclosed with your application.

Applying through the Study Abroad Office or international programs office at your home university

You home university must nominate you for the Study Abroad program at UWA. Once this nomination has been received, you will be sent an email from the UWA Study Abroad Office with advice on how to apply online. Your application should be accompanied by:

  • your original academic transcript (or a certified copy)
  • evidence of English language competency (where appropriate).

Where documents are not in English, a certified English translation must be enclosed with your application.

Accommodation

Fees

You must pay tuition fees to UWA.

Fees for 2012/2013 will be:

  • AUD$21,400 per year
  • AUD$10,700 per semester.

Fees are based on a standard enrolment load of 24 points per semester. Extra points will lead to extra fees being charged on a pro rata basis.

Students studying across two academic years (for example, Semester 2, 2012 and Semester 1, 2013) may be charged different fees for each semester.
