Study abroad and exchange

Here at The University of Western Australia we offer a range of study abroad and student exchange opportunities for both international and current students.

If you're an international student who would like to study at UWA for up to 12 months, we've got some great ways for you to broaden your horizons.

The University also offers exchange programs for UWA students who wish to study part of their degree overseas.

Through our Student Exchange and Study Abroad programs you can:

International students

UWA students

This is your chance to study at one of Australia's best and most beautiful universities in an atmosphere that encourages academic achievement, cultural exchange and making life-long friends.

Student Exchange

If your university has a formal university agreement with UWA, you can apply to study at UWA as an exchange student.

This means that you do not pay tuition fees to UWA, but continue to pay tuition fees at your home university. You must, however, pay for Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) as a condition of obtaining your Australian Student Visa.

European Union students coming to UWA on student exchange are eligible to apply for a Gerald Frank Brown Scholarship.

  • your university or college does not have a formal Student Exchange agreement with UWA
  • all places are filled in the Student Exchange program between UWA and your university
